Joseph Kettlewell was a skilled blacksmith who arrived here in 1872 and began to establish a business.\u00a0 In 1884, Kettlewell and his son built the present day brick building.\u00a0 It included a general merchandise store on the ground floor and doctors\u2019 offices above. The Kettlewell building became the largest 19th-century commercial building on Main Street.<\/p>\n

Other businesses have since occupied this building.\u00a0 In 1905,\u00a0G.W. Schmidt had a general store and farm implements line.\u00a0 A furniture store and an electrical supply store have also occupied the space. Doctors\u2019 and dentists\u2019 offices were located upstairs.<\/p>\n

In 1967, the Vasconi family renovated the building and they are still in business here today.<\/p>\n

The largest 19th Century building on Main Street was built in 1884 by Kettlewell and his son. It housed a general store on the 1st floor and doctor\u2019s offices on the 2nd. The main floor has been home to a furniture store and an electrical supply store over the years.
